A custom designed eCommerce website for a beef & dairy sires New Zealand business.
The Clients Brief
Genetic Choice first contacted Masters of Digital to discuss redesigning their existing website. The previous website did not present well on mobile devices, and it wasn’t clear or easy to navigate. They wanted to sell online, and the eCommerce side of their website was built with Joomla and was not working correctly. Overall they wanted a fresh new design that reflected their branding, whilst also making sure all the main information was easy to see and would catch the customer’s eye.
How We Helped
We began creating Genetic Choice’s new website on WordPress, making sure at each design revision they were happy with how the website was coming along. We coded each element to make sure the website was mobile responsive and the shop was easy to find & navigate, as well as easily manageable from the backend for the client.
Their target market was mostly farmers, so making they could quickly get to the shop and find exactly what they were after was a crucial element. We made sure the products categories are right on the shop page so products can be easily filtered and narrowed down to specific ones.
When adding products we ensured each photo was optimised for web and not big size-wise for website’s loading speed, whilst also ensuring the quality wasn’t compromised. We kept all photos the same proportion for presentation and made sure each product had all the required information customers would be looking for, like Breed, DOB, a Reference, amount in stock, etc.
Throughout the development phase, we made sure creating a new product would be easy as the client would be adding more later on themselves. After having explained how it works, our client gave it a shot and got it all figured out in 10 minutes!
We were able to complete the project meeting all customer’s requirements, and exceeded their expectations whilst keeping the project within budget.
